Kentucky (50 Songs For 50 States)

Jumping into a Kentucky River, 2009

My personal Kentucky history. Driven through it several times, wisely turned down a job in Louisville there in 2002 and jumped off a rock over 50 feet into a river (at least I believe it was a river) that was part of a canoe expedition in 2009 that left our canoe overturned and our open beer floating downstream. It's a state that has its charms (lots of horses in fields off the highway) and a Cracker Barrel at every point imaginable. and they love their Wildcats.

So let's give them a troubadour who understands the true heart and soul of the Kentucky woman who shines in her own kind of light and have Neil Diamond represent the Bluegrass state. By the way, congratulations to Mr. Diamond and his inclusion in the Rock 'n Roll Hall Of Fame, it wouldn't be the same there without the guy who wrote "Forever In Blue Jeans" and "Sweet Caroline".
