Top 500 Modern Rock Songs Of All Time (Introduction)

Modern Rock is generally a broader term to describe alternative rock from its evolution in pre-punk in the late 60's to its current form of indie rock at present day. In the year 2013 through 2014, station to station is going to designate a countdown to the Top 500 Modern Rock Songs Of All Time counting down the best the genre has had to offer. Now these songs haven't been handpicked by me (if they were, half of these songs wouldn't be on my PERSONAL FAVORITES). Rather it's a combination of several top Alternative and Indie rock radio stations all time charts throughout the United States along with a few bonus points from world wide acclaim that helped culminate a list of 500 songs that pretty much sum up the field of this genre. To make sure the list is current, the oldest list dates back to 2008 so to keep the countdown updated rather than dated.

Because of other duties in life right now including raising a newborn and also trying to  edit my own novel I've been working on in the past year, I'm probably not going to have as much time to write full on reviews of new music and artist spotlights as I have in the past three years. That's why I figured it would be a good time to lay down a list of my favorite genre (all though like I stated, i may not be my own favorites).

So keep an eye out throughout 2013-2014 as each weekday a song will be posted until we get to #1 sometime in 2014. A Spotify playlist will be avialable once e get through 50 songs.
